Are You Ready to Meet Legends?
Old Friends in Georgetown, Kentucky, offers retired Thoroughbreds a safe and dignified home after their racing and breeding careers end. Founded in 2003 by Michael Blowen, the farm began with one leased paddock and has grown to over 236 acres, three satellite locations, and more than 250 retired racehorses and stallions. The farm is home to Triple Crown race winners, Breeders’ Cup champions, and lesser-known warriors of the track.
A visit to Old Friends is a chance to walk among legends. Known as horse racing’s living-history museum, the farm welcomes around 15,000 guests each year. Visitors enjoy guided tours that offer close-up views of the horses and stories of their racing days. You can feed carrots to champions like Silver Charm or meet newcomers like I’ll Have Another. Every visit helps support the care of these horses, each with a unique story to share.
